Rebounding from an off week

I've eaten like absolute shit the past week or so. Easter candy, crappy carbs, (non-paleo) etc. These things happen. What matters is, long-term. I felt like crap waking up today and I punished myself at the gym. I've set a 2 week goal of 5lbs, which will put me below what I was at before the binge (mostly water). Don't let yourself fall off the wagon, even though you feel like you've failed. That would be like making $40,000 this year and giving up? Instead of jumping back in and getting the $60,000 you wanted and deserve. That's like cutting your finger, and saying "Oh, well I cut my finger, might as well say 'fuck it' and cut the rest off". These are minor speed bumps on your way to excellence, DO NOT let it beat you.

One love. <3

Paleo coconut banana dark chocolate chip muffins

I had to post this delicious recipe. These will change your life.

Ingredients:

6 free-run eggs

1/3 cup coconut milk (canned)

1 teaspoon sea salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup coconut oil, melted

3/4 cup coconut flour

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 3 bananas)

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 375.  Line a 12-cup muffin pan with paper liners.

In a large bowl, combine eggs, coconut milk, sea salt, and vanilla extract.  Whisk to combine.

Sift coconut flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon into the wet ingredients.  Whisk until no lumps remain.  Stir in melted coconut oil until well combined.  Fold in banana and chocolate chips (use your hands).

Fill each muffin cup to about a centimeter below the top of the cup. Sprinkle each muffin with a few additional chocolate chips.  Bake muffins for 15 to 18 minutes or until muffins are golden and spring back when pressed gently.  Once baked, cool for 10 minutes.

Enjoy!

Going back to school

Hey people,

So I'm heading back to school so I can make more money to buy more grass-fed meat. I'm pretty excited for the opportunity to learn a skilled trade. I'll be taking a heavy equipment operator course (driving tonka trucks), which should be fun and challenging. I'm going to keep training at night for a couple hours, and on Saturdays for some extra coin. This will be a good example of someone who is very busy, by will make time to hit the gym. I'm not going to make any excuses, and you shouldn't either. I'll keep you guys posted on important events regarding my career path, but will be back to posting fitness related topics ASAP.

Peace out.

Paleo bro!

Hey kids,

So I follow fairly strict paleo eating. This means I basically eat meat, veggies, fruit, nuts, seeds, little starch, no sugar. I'll cheat like a mofo once a week with some Thai or pizza or something, but overall I adhere pretty closely to paleo eating. It works for me. Anyways, here's an example of a quick and easy paleo meal that will do dinner and lunch the following day.

2 Chicken legs (free-range obvs), onion, zucchini, black carrots, Cajun seasoning, sea salt, coconut oil. Combine and bake.

More recipes (more elaborate) to come. Including coconut banana muffins with dark chocolate chips. Until then a good paleo eating resource is robbwolf.com or marksdailyapple.com.

One love.

Optimum Performance Training

Hey guys,

As you all know I've drank the CrossFit Kool-Aid™, and truly believe in it's principles and methods. I have recently stumbled (was told about) a site called Optimal Performance Training (Optexperience.com). What really impressed me about this CrossFit-type site is the programming. Always strength or skill before the met-con for the day. This really appealed to me as athleticism and total body strength are my top priorities (along with being chiseled). This site also plays with tempos, % maxes, and rest intervals to vary training even more. OPT also puts great emphasis on a new favourite sport of mine, Olympic Weightlifting (do not spell it weight lifting, bro, we aren't doing preacher curls here). I have decided that OPT will be my source of strength and conditioning work, as I believe it will benefit me most in my goals.

I recommend that my followers (both of you!) at least check out this site. While it may be too advanced for some, anyone with some oly-lifting and/or CrossFit experience would love the programming.

Keep your stick on the ice.
